Freedom - Do we really have it?

Waking up to shocking news of fanatical religiousness now and then has been a routine since last few months. The unyielding stubbornness of proving that their religion is better than someone else's is costing us lives. Literally. Humanity which has been in the roots of any other religion since ages has been overcome by the pathetic mentality to prove something which exists only in someone's mind.

The thing which was created to give us identity with uniqueness, has been mainly the cause of utter chaos in most cases. Respecting any idea or choice which differ than ours is forgotten long back. To go up to an extant that you kill someone just because he has done something wrong according to you, is heinous and utterly stupid. Such issues needs to be dealt with. Immediately and in a strict manner. Government and the citizen must condemn or demur such incidents because keeping silence on such things only provides indirect motivation to do such things again. You never know when you will be a victim of such vigorous religious vendetta.

It's high-time that one should apply their rational thinking with keeping their mind open rather than acting on their parochial mindset. Be a human first than a Hindu or a Muslim.

The Great Indian Reservation System

It's been in the news since last few days that people from a particular cast are demanding reservation for them. They want to transfer their status from General cast to OBC. In normal cases people get happy when they are promoted, but it’s the opposite here. People want to degrade. Actually this is how the concept of the reservation was introduced to me when I was a kid. My cast was promoted to OBC from SC/ST back then, and people were protesting that No, we are still not that developed and we should remain in the category of SC/ST. I asked my father why they were doing that, because we should feel proud and happy that we have worked hard and now we can say that we are developed. Then I got the knowledge of reservation system.

Now, the issue is very sensitive and complex. These people are claiming that they want to have the status of OBC, not because they are not developed, but they want to benefit from the reservation system. For me, this is wrong. I have partially supported the system, it was actually introduced to develop the nation, but with time it has been an obstacle in the development. The problem with such movements is that they are not in the direction of making the system correct or to improve the flaws, but they are in the way that how they can benefit from the flaws of the system. In addition to that if you want to have the OBC status, be ready to have the same social status like the other casts have in that section. In India rather than considering the cast backwards and that is in the sense that these group of people should develop, they should develop in the matter of opportunities. Rather than that we consider their beings backwards. Like they are not people and they have committed a crime by being born in some house. You don’t have to choice to select the house or cast in which you want to born. It’s the deeds of someone that makes them who they are, not their cast or the house they belong. People will need drastic change in their mentality to accept these facts, and I don’t see it happening any time soon.  What this system has done is that they have increased the social status gap between these casts. First of all I don’t believe in such cast system, but let’s leave that for some other day. In the name of culture and history we are still stubborn on some previous customs and rituals. Even in this era if you believe that someone is bad, because they are from some cast, then you have failed as a human.

Rather than changing the system, we want to benefit from it selfishly. No, reservation is not needed. If you want to really help the population, judge them on talent and help them nurture it. If a kid is talented enough to go to a good college and he doesn’t have the money to fund the fees, you can help him there. But he shouldn’t have the extra privilege that he can score low and still get ahead of the queue which has more potential than him, just because he was born in some cast. That’s wrong at the fundamental level. And if the government say that those special people don’t have all the facilities compared to the other people, it’s government’s fault. It is government’s duty to make sure that everyone in the country gets the same amount of opportunities as everyone. You can’t get away with giving privileges to some people in the name of development and reservation.

I agree that the system is wrong. Yes, it needs to change. And if you want to make it perfect, you have to change it, not to be part of that system. I hope one day both the major parties of India will put the vote bank politics aside and join hands to develop the country in real sense (I don’t see that happening for years to come though). On a rational level this movement is based on a selfish motto, may be many are deprived of the opportunities they deserve, but rather than making things right, you just want to take benefit of the faulty system. Then my friend, you are doing it wrong.

Changing The You!

There comes a time in life where you have to change, for good or for bad, for the truth or for the lies, to protect others or to protect yourself, to shape in or to shape out, to save something or to lose someone, for breaking good or breaking bad!

There comes a time when you are changed, just because you have no other options left. Comes a time when everything is at risk, all your dreams, all the people who belongs to you or the situations which are against you, the choice you make there decides your life, the direction you give to your thoughts and the decision you take. All the decisions you take in life are just the reflations of your thoughts. You become what you think. Bending is good in every situations, but after that returning to the original shape is more important.

Changing your self for someone is good partially, only if the other person is trying to change you in a positive way. Always be ready to accept the good changes in your life, never be ashamed to admit that you have been wrong, the best part is to realize and change your mistakes, rather that sticking up with your ego and not admitting about the wrong deeds. While making a decision asking someone's advice is the wise thing to do, but giving them the power to decide for you is not.

While making a huge decision, we always consider the negative points of the situations, we always think about the risks involved with the decision but we mostly neglect the good or positive side of the situation. We never think that if the thing goes the right way, life will be pretty beautiful. Never be afraid of taking risks in life, never be afraid of changing yourself and never be afraid of losing. If you do this you are not trusting yourself, and in this world, yourself is the only being you can trust completely.

P.S.- Never be afraid of taking risks in life with the fear of losing things, because believe me, some risks in life are worth taking :)

Expectations: That's where the problem is!

It's the starting, you expect, you get disappointed, you become sad, and think what's wrong. That's not how it should work. Satisfaction is the key here, if you don't expect much from someone you will be happy for even the little things they do for you. We always set out standards high, and as someone fails to achieve it, the problem starts.

You need to believe that everything doesn't work the way you want it to be, everyone don't do things the way you like them to be, they have got their own thought process, and obviously they will follow it. It's said that a satisfied person is a happy person, always be satisfied with what you have got, the desire of achieving more should be there, but it doesn't mean that you don't value the things you have got at present.

In every relationship, we expect certain things from the other person, and if they don't do it, we automatically assume that something is wrong with us or them. If they don't do things your way, it doesn't mean that they don't love you or you don't matter for them. Everyone has got their own way of showing affection, love and care, and they might not match with your expectation. You need to think from other's prospective too and you will realize that you have been wrong.

From childhood we have been taught that if you do some thing for someone, they should return the favor in this way and in that way our mind always thinks. So we expect certain things and we get disappointed. Try at least once, don't expect anything from anyone and if they do a tiny thing, you will be happy like anything and that too for you and your relationship either it is friendship or any other relationship. Low expectations is the key for a happy life.

P.S. - What ruins everything is the image or expectation about something that how it is supposed to be!

Arvind Kejriwal: The man with the will

Once in a while there comes a person who changes the scenario of India in such a way that new history is created. Jayprakash Narayan was one and i think this man has the capability to do things, things in different way, the one who can put his country ahead of himself, the one who can understand the problems of common man rather than just saying that he feels them.

All started with the Jan Lokpal movement, he came in the limelight, people were thinking that if he was the brain behind all this, then again the second movement, then his own fast, and a simple challenge by Mr. Salman Khrushid, that if you want to fight, then join politics, come in the parliament and then fight! Well. ideally you should not challenge an engineer, and if you do so, then be ready for the consequences. Next morning the announcement was made that he and his group are forming a political party, " Aam Aadmi Party".

Some members of team Anna were against the decision of forming a political party and media was also criticizing the decision, but that was the best done at that time, some also called him opportunist. But the one who has a will, will find a way. Going through all the challenges and hardships, the controversies he was going strong. The election arrived and he choose to challenge the 15yrs old candidate, the Chief Minister and the again his dicision was questioned, but he was determined. She asked once in an interview 'Kejriwal Who?', well, the results showed that who is Kejriwal! This morning he announced his decision of forming the government.

The public wanted a change, were fed up from this mud of corruption, poverty and what not! They saw a ray of hope and surprisingly results of election were a huge surprise. They didn't got clear lead but the trust was there from the public. Congress is giving the conditional support(Well, there looks something fishy), but then the intention is clear, the will is pure and the determination is strong. Surely there are some faults too but comparing to all other competitors, they are way ahead in the line and surely a considerable option in upcoming Loksabha elections.

P.S. : First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight against you and then you win!(And they might join you- Congress)

Engineering Education (Badly needs a change!)

Producing meaningless batches of robots every year, especially the engineering schools, don’t know what they are up to! With the never ending syllabus, in the burdens of assignments, in the tensions of good grades, suffering from the mental torture of professors, keeping the attendance percentages in mind, in between all the processes a student which dreams of doing something creative, something extra ordinary, that thought dies! It’s just like putting a bird in the cage. It won’t be allowed to fly high in the sky where it wants to, instead of that it is forced to live in a cage full of shit!

There is no doubt that some students still exceeds in that field, but most as I have seen with my eyes, dreams of doing something different gets stuck in things which they have to do against their wish. And if someone leaves it in between, the society is always there to comment on everything you do. The concept of society still makes me wonder, we’ll talk about that some other day. Nevertheless the day you stop giving a damn about what others think of what you do and start doing what you like is the day of revolution in your life. The best day to start something good is today and remember that tomorrow is always a better day.

We choose the streams of 12th based on the percentages of 10th, not based on the interest of individual, the branch of engineering based on the current flow of market again not preferring the personal interest. The stupid exam systems, no doubt exams should be there to check the knowledge. Exams should check the knowledge, the intelligence, not how much one can cram. In this system I think they are checking how much GB we can store in our mind, they should well know that we are humans, not some machines with hard drives so we can just scan things and there it is on our mind. In the process of getting good marks, to avoid taunts of family and society, the logic and knowledge suffers. I don’t think there is any way one can remember 200 equations filled with weird symbols, unless you have identical memory and only some are blessed with that. Yes, one should definitely know it, but know it how to use and when to use.Instead of that what we get to do is that how to cram that!

I can’t see the need to remember them when in this technological time where everything is on your fingertip just a touch away! Just type in Google and there it is. Why waste time in memorizing them while u can utilize the time doing something more operational. Mental harassment of students seems like one of the most favorite hobbies of professors. No wonder suicide rates are high in engineering schools. Giving useless assignments which contain nothing but a long list of questions which you have to write mindlessly, and yes, we all copy it. Submission time is their time, they are the boss. Rejecting file after file and even if that’s not enough, sometimes throwing them away. These actions might be giving them a sense of satisfaction over the fact of not achieving anything in the life. They expect respect from students, but respect is a two way thing just like Karma, you get what you give. Obviously there are some exceptional cases, the one’s which students loves, the true teacher, who guides the students to the right path. Yeah, they are rare.

A backlog in exam and everyone loses their mind. Have you seen any team of any sports that has not lost even a single game till date? Have you seen any individual in anything that has not failed? Any successful person who did not go through failure? Any actor who has not given a single flop movie? Besides the exams of engineering, there are exams which life takes. And passing them is much more important than these silly ones! Failure is a sure thing, the key is to not giving up. That’s why we fall, so that we can pic ourselves up! (The Batman Begins :P). And sure engineering teaches you many things, but most of them are from outside of the syllabus! They system can only produce another system. Engineering surely makes you Jack of all, master of none!

P.S.- The problem in India is that the smartness and intelligence of someone is defined by his/her percentages, Sad!

India - The Land of Self Proclaimed Godmen

Since so many years, this topic has been controversial. The number of ordinary people claiming to be extra-ordinary keeps increasing and people keep putting their faith in them. This has to be stopped somehow, the stupidity must end someday. I wish this day come as early as possible. Because there is nothing to lose for the one who claims to be the God, obviously they aren't. They will face some charges and will eventually come up with the clean sheet. What is lost during this process in people’s hopes, their dreams, and their faith which they have put it in them. I must say that people of India are far too innocent while believing and trusting someone. They will easily lay their belief in them, and this is all they want. They will live a luxurious life, will have power, even females who blindly follow them and most importantly the power, which will make them stronger day by day.

Thanks to the media, there has been some awareness about these topics. But there is a say that ‘You can take a horse to the lake, but you can’t make the horse drink water’. All you can do is aware them, but they are so lost in the deep influences of these God men that they won’t even believe you, no matter how hard you try! Not taking any names, you know who they are. And some of you are might following one, but the thing is to keep in mind is that sometimes it’s hard to believe the reality, but you can’t change the fact. And some of you even won’t agree with me about this, but this is what I believe. I strongly believe in God, but I don’t think you need to worship someone who is claiming to be God with his tricks. A belief and hope in yourself is above all of this.

One of the main reasons in India behind this blind following crowd is that everyone what to live a luxurious and life with full money without doing any hard work or facing the challenges which life offers you. Believe me there is no shortcut or secret formula to get success. And even if there was any, no one is that stupid that they would share that in public. They say they will change your life and all they do is to thug you. No one except you can change your life. Please be awake, be responsible and be safe! Happy Navratri to all of You.

P.s. : The problem is not that it happens almost every year and people’s hopes, faith and beliefs are being torn apart, the problem is that people still chooses to believe the new one who emerges out of nowhere!
